Your authentication information is incorrect. How to fix AWS MFA?

You cannot login to your AWS account with correct password and correct MFA code? No, you do not have paranoia. Let’s fix AWS MFA!

Step 1: Google Authenticator

If you use another application for 2-step verification codes, skip this step. Navigate to your Google Authenticator mobile app. Open Settings. Select Time correction for codes:

Select Sync now:

Step 2: AWS

Navigate to https://console.aws.amazon.com. Enter your account ID or account alias (e.g. medium). Click Next button:

Enter your e-mail address and password. Click Sign In button:

Click Troubleshoot MFA link:

Click Re-sync MFA device button:

Enter first MFA code. Enter next MFA code. Click Re-sync MFA device button:
